January 3rd 1845CPAt Wattliehirst, Nicholforest, on the 29th ult, Mr Daniel Bell, aged 84 years.January 10th 1845CPAt Shadwell Crook in the parish of Kirkandrews on Esk on the 31st ult, Mr David Little, linen and woollen draper, of Blackburn, aged 24 years ? he came into his native county a few weeks since for the benefit of his health.Same day at Browhead in the same parish, Mr George Murray, aged 59.At Smithfield in the parish of Kirklinton, on the 6th inst, aged 57 years, Mrs Margaret Baty, wife of Mr John Baty, blacksmith, much respected.January 17th 1845CPAt Hallfoot in the parish of Kirklinton on the 10th inst Miss Jane Irving, daughter of Mr Walter Irving, farmer, aged 16 years.January 24th 1845CPAt Springfield near Gretna on the 14th inst, Archibald Steel. He was post-boy at Gretna Hall nearly 20 years, and as proof of his careful driving he rode one mare 11 years, and his last one 8 years.January 31st 1845CPAt Longtown on the 27th inst, Ann, the daughter of Robert Lamb, aged 7 years; same day, Alice the infant daughter of Jane Forster, aged 13 months.At Moat in the parish of Kirkandrews on Esk on the 26th inst, Mrs Mary Blaylock, wife of Mr Francis Blaylock, stone mason, aged 50 years.At Hallside in the parish of Kirklinton, Mr George Graham, land surveyor, aged 28 years, much respected.At Hallflat in the parish of Scaleby, on the 18th inst Isabella, infant daughter of Mr John Palmer, aged 13 months. This is the third and last child of Mr Palmer that had died since the 24th December.At Uppertown, Kirklinton, on the 25th inst, Mr Joseph Lee, aged 86 years.February 7th 1845CPAt Rackgate in the parish of Stapleton, on the 22nd ult, Mrs Frances Musgrave, eldest daughter of the Rev William Graham, late rector of Stapleton.At Guards Mill near Gretna on the 24th ult, Mr John Little, aged 65 years, a man universally esteemed for his truly practical Christian virtues, and whose loss will be felt not only by his own family, but by a large circle of acquaintances.At Longtown on Friday 31st ult, Mr John Holliday, late of Howend, farmer, aged 76 years, much respected by all who knew him.At Longtown Union Workhouse, on Monday 3rd inst, Mary Brown, aged 95 years.February 14th 1845CPAt Hethersgill on the 3rd inst, in childbed, Margaret, wife of Mr David Telford, innkeeper, aged 30 years.At Milleesbraehead in the parish of Kirkandrews on Esk, on the 13th inst, Mrs Isabella Johnston, widow of Mr John Johnston, late of Beaumont, aged 77 years.February 21st 1845CPAt Gilestown in the parish of Kirklinton, on the 13th inst, Mr John Graham, aged 57 years, late of Harraby Green, near Carlisle, skinner, much respected.At Cocklet Hill in the parish of Kirklinton, on the 13th inst, Miss Jane Hewitson, aged 54 years.At Browhead in the parish of Kirkandrews on Esk on the 17th inst, Jane Coulthard, aged 74 years.February 28th 1845CPAt Longtown very suddenly, on Saturday the 22nd inst, Mr Robert Nixon, schoolmaster of the parish school, Longtown, aged 68 years, much respected by a large circle of acquaintances.At Longtown on Sunday the 23rd inst, Mrs Sarah Corrie, wife of William Corrie, ironmonger, aged 78 years. She was many years head nurse to the late Sir James Graham?s family of Netherby Hall.March 14th 1845CPAt Longtown on the 5th inst, Mary, the infant daughter of Mr Robert Young, china merchant.At Longtown on the 6th inst, Mr Thomas Wilkinson, boot and shoe maker, aged 28 years. He was a member of the lodge of Oddfellows at Jarrow, in the county of Durham.At Longtown on the 10th inst, Janet, the infant daughter of Mr Andrew Nichol of that place.March 21st 1845CPAt Longtown on the 16th inst, Mrs Catherine Lamonby, wife of Mr Thomas Lamonby, aged 42 years.On Monday the 17th inst at Willow Hill in the parish of Kirklinton, Ann, the wife of Mr James Hetherington, aged 70 years, after 11 years confined by a paralytic stroke. She was a dutiful and affectionate mother, and much respected in her situation of life.March 28th 1845CPAt Longtown on Monday 24th inst Mr William Little, stone mason, aged 55 years.At the Bush Inn, Longtown, on the 25th inst, Mr James Baxter, innkeeper, aged 31 years; he was the son of the late Mr James Baxter of Fauld near Longtown, well known in the North of England and South of Scotland as a very extensive dealer in butter, bacon etc. The deceased was much respected by all who knew him.At Lyneside School House in the parish of Arthuret on the 22nd inst, Mr William Short, schoolmaster, aged 36.At the Longtown Union Workhouse on the 23rd inst, Jane Armstrong, aged 85 years.Same place on the 26th inst, Margaret Lawson, a Scotch mendicant, aged 82 years.April 4th 1845CPAt Longtown on Thursday 27th ult, Mr James Marrs, blacksmith, aged 59 years.At Longtown on Sunday 30th ult, Mr William Steel, aged 67 years.At Longtown on the same day, Mrs Margaret Ferguson, aged 29 years.April 18th 1845CPAt Longtown on Monday 7th inst, Mr Robert Lamb, weaver, aged 37 years.At Longtown on the 14th inst, Mr John Armstrong, tailor, aged 92 years. The deceased has been head tailor to the late Mr Graham of Netherby Hall, the late Sir James Graham, and to the present Right Hon Sir James Graham, Bart of Netherby Hall during the long period of 70 years.
