At Longtown on the 26th ult, Thomas John, infant son of Mr Thomas Wilson, joiner; and on the 28th ult, Mr William Carlisle, tailor, aged 23 years, much respected. At Longtown Union Workhouse on the 25th ult, Thomas Park, schoolmaster, aged 17 years.January 24th 1846CPAt Yadhill, Hethersgill, on the 4th inst, Mrs Graham, in childbed, daughter of Mr Holliday, aged 39. On the 8th inst, Mrs Ferguson, widow of the late Mr Francis Ferguson of Lairdstown in the parish of Arthuret, aged 79 years. At Browhead in the parish of Kirkandrews, on the 11th inst, Mr Joseph Crosby aged 55 years. At Longtown on the 17th inst in childbed, Mrs Elizabeth, wife of Mr Andrew Birrell, butcher, aged 37 years; and on the 19th, their infant daughter. At Longtown on the 11th inst, Thomas Yule, aged 7 years.March 27th 1846CPAt Glinger Bank near Longtown on Sunday 15th inst, at the advanced age of 88 years, the Rev John James, for 38 years perpetual curate of Nicholforest, and 64 years a clergyman of the Church of England. He has left many friends and relatives to mourn his loss. Kind-hearted and forgiving, all loved him who knew him. She was the mother of 13 children, grandmother to 50 and great ? grandmother to 46. If she had survived a few days longer, she would have been a great-great-grandmother. At Longtown on the 14th inst, Mr Gaven Williamson, late of Black Rigg, aged 58 years.September 11th 1846CPAt Seaton near Workington on the 1st inst, very suddenly, the Rev John Topping, incumbent of Camerton, and second son of the Rev John Topping of Irthington in this county, aged 45.
